One to one teaching from Ulverston

1. Beginner’s Guitar Teaching

Have you always wanted to play the guitar? Do you want to be able to play around the camp fire, sing songs to your family and friends, have a fun new hobby or even play in public?  I can help you realise your dreams and potential!

With personally tailored lessons to suit your tastes and needs we will work together to learn songs and pieces that you will enjoy.  We will go through all the basics of tuning and caring for your instrument, I can also help you choose your first guitar and recommend what to look out for and where to shop.  You will learn basic chords and strumming techniques, starting with a simple song that you’ll playing in no time, you’ll be surprised how easy it is!

For children and young people I can work with the student and parents ensuring that your child receives exactly what they need.  If a more structured examination based course is required we can work through the ‘Rock School’ grade system or through the classical Associated Board examinations.  We can discuss your particular needs in a free preliminary meeting.

2.Intermediate and Advanced Lessons

If you have been playing the guitar for a while and want to top up your skills or be inspired in different directions, I can help you too!  Whether you play electric or acoustic, rock or folk, blues or jazz, we can work together, looking at techniques, practice schedules, correcting bad habits, musical theory, composition, performance or anything that you want to focus on with your playing.
